Spring 2023 Baseball Important Information

Important Dates:
Dec 1 – Online Registration Opens
Jan 8 – Registration Deadline
Jan 9 – Late Registration Opens ($25 Late fee for all leagues except Rookie and Colt)
Jan 28 – Skills Evaluations (All leagues except Rookie)
Jan 29 through Feb 5 – Team Selections
Feb 4 – Practices Begin
Mar 4 – OPENING DAY! Spring Season Begins
Mar 11 – Opening Day Rookie
May 6 – Tournament Begins
May 24 – Spring Season Ends

League Cost (plus additional county fee):
Rookie – $100
Shetland 5U – $165
Shetland 6U – $165
Pinto – $225.00
Mustang – $240.00
Bronco – $240.00
Pony – $255.00
Colt – $255.00
*Please note that ESBA does provide needs-based scholarships to cover registration fees. Please email your Board Representative or Registrar for information regarding scholarships.

East Side Travel Players:
ANY East Side Travel Player who is also interested in playing Rec MUST be registered prior to the Rec team drafts or they will be ineligible for the current Rec season.

New Pinto League Information:
The Spring Pinto season has some exciting changes for 2023. We are introducing a two league system that provides advantages to all East Side families and players. Specifically, the Spring 2023 leagues will consist of a Pinto Blue & Pinto Red league.

Pinto Blue – Our flagship league, this league is ideal for all skill levels.
The league will consist of 60-70% of registered players
The league will play with current pinto rules
An increased focus on playing more positions with similar skilled players
More games and more at bats than Pinto Red League
Preferential Practice Allocations

Pinto Red – This league is intended for our most experienced intermediate/advanced baseball players in Pinto age group.
Focused mainly on 8u aged players
This league will only have 30-40% of registered players
Play Summer Allstar baseball rules
Similar skill level players

As our first season trying this new approach, we are dedicated to providing a great experience for all our East Side families and players at all skill levels. When registering, you have the opportunity to register your player(s) for Pinto Blue Only (Interested in evaluation solely for Pinto Blue League) or for evaluation for both leagues (Would like to be evaluated for consideration in the Pinto Red & Pinto Blue Leagues – Evaluations/Draft ultimately determine which league you will participate in).
