VIII. ALL STARS
To recognize certain “most valuable” players who are judged to have made superior contributions to their teams, players in designated leagues select “all stars” from their spring season teams. It is recognized that there may not be a perfect method to select all stars, but East Side’s experience has shown that the collective opinions of the players voting by confidential ballot produces the most trusted process and fairest outcome.
The all star selection process will be confidential, with the President appointing impartial all star officials to conduct the voting and to carefully review the ballots for integrity.
Players must be present to vote (absentee ballots are not accepted). It is preferable to offer an alternative voting date (such as the Thursday before) for teams not playing games on voting day and for players who will be away.
Each Pinto, Mustang and Bronco team selects 4 all stars; ties in voting for the final spot will be resolved by the League's Board Representative (head coaches may be consulted).
All stars receive an all star cap and will participate in all star day if held by that division.
All star selection is a separate program from the selection of post-season tournament teams.
Spring season Pinto, Mustang and Bronco teams' players also select one player from their team to be honored with the Sportsmanship Award. Ties in voting will be resolved by the League's Board Representative (head coaches may be consulted).
